Harry
Harry was a very lucky rat, and grew to fame due to his desperate desire to live.  When
his mother Bethan went into labour with a litter that was very important to their owner
Nicola, she struggled and as a sad result most of her litter was born dead.  Only 3
kittens were still alive and so a race against time began.  With Bethan too weak to
nurse her kittens, Nicola jumped into a car to take the three eepers to Estelle, a
friend and fellow breeder who was able to help as she too had a doe who had recently
given birth.
Sadly, two of the kittens were too weak and only Harry survived, earning him his
name: The Boy Who Lived.
Fostered alongside a litter of Russian Blue kittens, Harry's adventurous and
cheeky nature was clear from the start - here was a rat who rejoiced in life!  He
returned to Nicola aged 6 weeks with one of his foster siblings and went on to sire
many litters, having not only survived against the odds but also having proven to
have the perfect temperament for a buck.
Readers of the fancy-rats.co.uk forum, who had followed his story from
the beginning loved hearing about Harry's adventures and he claimed a
special place in the hearts of people who had never even met him.  Of those
who had, all were in agreement that Harry was indeed a fantastic chap.
Sadly Harry crossed to the bridge on 31.01.08, aged 2 years and 5 months.
He will forever live on in our memories as a remarkable, life-affirming boy.
