Rizzo

We have so much to thank the Muppets for - not least for wise-cracking, fast talking, streetwise New Jersey-accented Rizzo the Rat!

Performed by Steve Whitmore and named after Ratso Rizzo, a character in Midnight Cowboy,
Rizzo appeared initially as a background character in the Muppet Show.  Following on from
this, his role was expanded in the film 'The Great Muppet Caper' and in subsequent Muppet
films suc as 'The Muppet Christmas Carol', 'Muppet Treasure Island' and 'Muppets in Space'.
More commonly associated with Gonzo, these two muppets have formed a popular double-act
and long may it continue!
